The Secret Life of Cosmos DB Change Feed and How it Enables Serverless Schema-less Nirvana
Remember the scene from The Matrix where Neo goes "I know ... Kung Fu". Consider this your "I know ... Kung Fu" moment but for Serverless. These days some of the best solutions are Serverless - code executing in the cloud, reading and writing data to datastores in the cloud, without having to worry about minuate like the data schema and scaling issues. Did you know that Cosmos DB has a feature called Change Feed that makes this transition almost transparent. This talk goes beyond the Serverless hype and discusses some use cases and practical implementations for truly going Serverless using Azure Functions, CosmosDB and C#.
In this talk, we will:
-Learn why Azure Functions and CosmosDB are perfect for serverless and schema-less systems (includes concepts like DevOps and TCO)
-Dive in more in depth on Change Feed - the secret sauce that enables Cosmos DB to seamlessly integrate with external services
-Show how Azure Functions + Cosmos DB + Change Feed: your path to Serverless Schema-less nirvana
